Making Friends is Easy at 9 Beaches

Whether adult or child, it just seems so easy to meet new friends at 9 Beaches. Why do you suppose that is? Perhaps it’s our relaxed and ultra-casual atmosphere.

Jenny “Sunshine” Gould (age 6) and her brother Jonathan (age 8) from Boston met up with new friend Colin Smith (age 9, middle) on Windward Beach, a great gathering spot for kids. The children were supervised by Jenny & Jonathan’s mother Kerry who was just off camera relaxing on a beach lounge and reading a book.

A quick survey (with a sample of 3) proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that kids love 9 Beaches. Best liked features in order include the beaches, cabanas, freedom and food.

PS - It won’t be long before they are all grown up like the lads below. Enjoy the youth while you can. See you soon.

Five Brave Men

(click the image for best effect)

These handsome Englishmen are staying at 9 Beaches while waiting for their Royal Navy ship to arrive at the Dockyard nearby. They are all Navy divers who not only repair the Navy ships but are also expert at disarming bombs and mines.

This brave bunch are thoroughly enjoying their stay and as one said, "9 Beaches is just our cup of tea!"

You'll find all sorts of interesting and adventurous guests here at 9 Beaches. Do you have any messages you would like us to pass along to our boys? Send a comment.

Giant Crocodile on the Loose off Bermuda

Last Sunday was an unusually blustery day in Bermuda as our General Manager was standing near the water being sheltered by Dark and Stormy’s (how appropriate). All of a sudden he saw 9 Beaches’ brand new giant crocodile float break away from its moorings and start moving out to sea.

Jumping into a nearby kayak he started paddling furiously in an attempt to capture the crocodile float. A short time later he realized Mother Nature was winning this battle and turned back toward shore. So the giant 9 Beaches crocodile is lost at sea – sure to surprise a cruise boat one day soon!

Don't worry, we still have our giant turtle float which is now doubly secured to its mooring.

Farewell to a Faithful Friend

Logan the ultimate social dog and the centerpiece of 9 Beaches’ complimentary “Rent-A-Dog” program is leaving the island. While many staff members have tried to convince him to stay, Logan will be faithfully following owner David Dodwell Jr. when he leaves in April to attend Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. David is going for his Master’s of Management in Hospitality.

Logan is hoping to audit a few classes and return to Bermuda with an advanced degree in face licking, water sports and play-date fun. When Logan returns you will read it first on the 9 Beaches Blog.

If you are one of the lucky ones to have had a play-date with Logan send him your best wishes via a comment below. We’ll see all posts are read to him.
