Nevis Premier Visits 9 Beaches

Last Friday, October 3, 9 Beaches had a special visit from the Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph W. Parry.
Here is a picture of Premier Parry, Lucinda Tyrrell and Imelda Grante (two of 9 Beaches Food & Beverage Servers who are from Nevis), Ms. Juliette O' Loughlin (secretary to the Premier) and Mr. Laurie Lawrence (Permanent Secretary).
The Premier's group enjoyed visiting a number of hotels in Bermuda and was very interested in 9 Beaches and the way the Cabanas were constructed.
We hope to see him back for a more relaxing time soon!

Castles Made of Sand

Eleven year old Jake Stattel from Coopersberg, PA found this large sand castle on Windward Beach that was built last Wednesday by some other kids.
Jake said, “it is like a Coliseum and also has a walled city with tunnels, a gate and bridges.” He had to repair the outer wall that was washed away when the tide came in.
Jake and his mother and grandmother were at 9 Beaches last Monday when Tropical Storm Bertha passed by, but everyone returned to enjoying the beaches the very next day.

Newport to Bermuda Sailors Relax at 9 Beaches

Navigators must stay alert as they dodge the coral reefs that extend for miles from the north of the main island. The yachts passed right by 9 Beaches as they neared their destination – what a beautiful sight to see.
A J44 sailboat, Resolute, arrived in Bermuda on June 25 with a crew of 10. Crew members were Josh Ledwith, Fred Madeira (owner and skipper), John Madeira (Fred's son), Tim Hussey (navigator), Philip Hussey (Tim's son), Jon Hussey (Tim's brother), Tom Hussey (Tim's cousin), David Williams, Geoff Emmanual and Gary Robinson.
Only David Williams and Geoff Emmanuel had previously participated in the race, 26 years ago! The rest of the crew enjoyed sailing the Newport to Bermuda Race for the first time.
To relax after the long trip, the group of 10 friends and family (many have known each other for 41 years) treated themselves to a vacation at 9 Beaches. Tim said "the nicest thing about this race is ending in Bermuda. We really enjoyed relaxing together after an intense crossing."
Have you ever sailed the Newport to Bermuda race? We’d love to hear your stories.

Refresh with a Coconut Drink

First time guests John and Gunilla Sturrock from Boston really enjoyed 9 Beaches (and our delicious coconut drinks!) They found 9 Beaches on the internet decided to stay once they saw the pictures. John said "the pictures sold me!"
They stayed in a Paradise Pier Cabana and really loved the sound of the ocean beneath them. We hope to see them again when they return with their two children.
So, stay at 9 Beaches for a relaxing romantic vacation, family vacation, or just to enjoy a fun cocktail!

9 Beaches Engagement

They picked 9 Beaches and stayed in Cabana 58 in late October. During their stay Mike popped the question and asked Jo to marry him. She accepted of course (why else would we be posting this?) and they went to a jewelry store in the Royal Navy Dockyard where they picked out a fabulous tanzanite engagement ring. They got engaged at Snuggler’s Beach - one of our 9 beaches - where this picture was taken.
We’re encouraging Jo and Mike to return and get married at 9 Beaches giving them our new wedding planner and other goodies to help get them back.
If you got married or honeymooned at 9 Beaches, please drop us a line.

Bermuda Music Festival

They loved 9 Beaches and can’t wait to come back again for next year’s Music Festival. Their favorite part? Listening to the water as they fell asleep in their cabana.
Did you attend the Bermuda Music Festival? Let us know your favourite part.

Making Friends is Easy at 9 Beaches

Whether adult or child, it just seems so easy to meet new friends at 9 Beaches. Why do you suppose that is? Perhaps it’s our relaxed and ultra-casual atmosphere.
Jenny “Sunshine” Gould (age 6) and her brother Jonathan (age 8) from Boston met up with new friend Colin Smith (age 9, middle) on Windward Beach, a great gathering spot for kids. The children were supervised by Jenny & Jonathan’s mother Kerry who was just off camera relaxing on a beach lounge and reading a book.
A quick survey (with a sample of 3) proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that kids love 9 Beaches. Best liked features in order include the beaches, cabanas, freedom and food.
PS - It won’t be long before they are all grown up like the lads below. Enjoy the youth while you can. See you soon.

Five Brave Men
These handsome Englishmen are staying at 9 Beaches while waiting for their Royal Navy ship to arrive at the Dockyard nearby. They are all Navy divers who not only repair the Navy ships but are also expert at disarming bombs and mines.
This brave bunch are thoroughly enjoying their stay and as one said, "9 Beaches is just our cup of tea!"
You'll find all sorts of interesting and adventurous guests here at 9 Beaches. Do you have any messages you would like us to pass along to our boys? Send a comment.
